The Motorola Droid 2 Global has been up on Verizon’s site for a little while now — you can order it right now and have one shipped out your way — but for whatever reason Verizon has neglected to make any sort of announcement of the device via press release. Now on their Facebook page they have maybe given the most official “confirmation” of the device we will probably get in the form of a status update offering the D2G for $199.99 on a two-year contract after mail-in rebate.
The Droid 2 had an odd marketing approach in terms of hyping up the device before its launch, but advertising slowly picked up. We suspect the same will happen with the Droid 2 Global, with the handset more or less piggybacking on the same campaign as the original Droid 2.
