The Lumigon T1 was first announced by the Danish company way back in February. At that point in time it looked to be a promising Android 2.1 handset that would put all others to shame. After little was heard about the phone for so long, when Lumigon announced the unveiling party for the handset many thought it simply wouldn’t come close to breaking any new ground as it was originally thought. We are happy to say that, on paper at least, this phone still has a chance to run with the big boys.
The handset has been updated to run on Android 2.2 (Froyo) with it’s own custom UI, and features an 800MHz Freescale i.MX515 processor, a 3.5-inch 480×800 LCD touchscreen, and 5MP autofocus camera. But this phone is designed to be a multimedia powerhouse. HDMI output, FM radio and transmitter, and the ability to double as an AV remote for all of your gear are just a couple of media highlights. But we have seen all of that before. What we haven’t seen is a phone designed with high-quality audio amplifiers for a superb experience over it’s own speakers, through a pair of headphones, or jacked into an external system. Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio amplifiers are sure to provide excellent audio reproduction.
Throw in a sleek and modern design and you have a handset that makes my mouth water. The phone will be available towards the end of the year, though details on where and for how much are scant.
