TELUS Discontinues HTC Hero

We knew we’d be seeing this day eventually, and now the aging HTC Hero is slowly finding itself less and less at home in a handset market that has grown exponentially since its initial launch back in 2009. TELUS picked up the handset in November and now just about a year later they have officially removed the device from their lineup. While the phone is dwarfed today by what seems like dozens of Android options HTC has released since the launch of the Hero, it still maintains a strong presence in the Android world.

We are sure many more carriers will be following in the coming months with their own end of life statuses for the Hero. Until then if you were hoping to get a Hero or just want to grab one for nostalgia’s sake you should act quick. As for TELUS, the phone is already off their site though some units may still linger in store stock.
