It comes as no surprise that Acer would be cooking up some Android 3.0 tablets, and sure enough we are getting word that three models are in the works with varying screen sizes. They will be available in 5-inch, 7-inch, and 10-inch screen sizes each tackling a division of the tablet market, from the size of the iPad to the portability of a smaller device like the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The 5-inch version is aimed towards the same niche area as the Dell Streak, and will most likely be comprised of the same fusion between tablet and phone seen in that product.
It isn’t clear whether the tablets will go with a Snapdragon architecture or NVIDIA’s Tegra 2, but an x86 model running Windows 7 will be dropping before the Android variants hit shelves. When we will see Acer’s next generation of tablets and at what price remains up in the air.
