Huawei Debuts New Android Phones Including Entry-Level Android 2.2 Ideos
While big name manufacturer’s can barely release one device without every bit of information leaking out beforehand, Huawei has been able to use their smaller stature to quietly and continually churn out cost-effective Android smartphones for markets all over the globe. The trend continues as the company has just announced a new lineup of four Android phones aimed to please across the board.
The Huawei Ideos is an “entry-level” Android 2.2 device that will be priced between $100 and $200 off-contract depending on the market. The Ideos is available in several color options and is focused at providing a seamless internet experience, including the ability to create a mobile hotspot for up to eight devices.
The Huawei U8800 is another Android 2.2 option, and this handset brings along HSPA+ capabiliteis with download speeds of up to 14 Mbps. It features a 3.8-inch widescreen display and also acts as a mobile hotspot.
The Huawei U8500 is a bit smaller in form factor with a 3.2-inch screen and gets a downgrade to Android 2.1. Also on 2.1 is the Huawei U8300 designed as another entry-level option for younger people and children.
The exact release details are not clear at this time, but Huawei plans to get these devices to carriers from Asia to Europe and even the United States.
