The HTC Desire is finally officially available in the United States through regional carrier US Cellular. You can walk into a store and grab it up for $199.95 after a $70 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract – a fitting price for a phone that still sits among some of the best HTC has to offer. This version of the HTC Desire doesn’t come with the 3.7-inch AMOLED display it originally debuted with – HTC’s been switching over to Super LCD due to shortages – but the differences are said to be nearly indistinguishable.
It also has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, GPS, WiFi, and it comes pre-installed with Android 2.1 (no word on if it’ll be jumped up to Android 2.2 in the near or distant future).
