It’s That Damned Galaxy Tab in the Wild Again [Video]

6

In the wilds are nothing new, but I always seem to get a little happy whenever I see the Galaxy Tab – Samsung’s 7-inch Android-based tablet – pop up. This time is a bit more special: we might actually have a shot of the device moving about on video. It was last seen taking a stroll in the outback as a man used it while riding public Australian transportation.

Pretty wild that the man standing behind him just so happened to be an Android fan and took this glorious opportunity to create some golden footage. Check out a video of the device being worked out above.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Samsung looks like they did a pretty good job with their tab, I can’t wait to test run it! :-)

  2. he doesnt seem like he really wants to talk to the guy filming hahah

  3. Gotta love getting the cold shoulder. The guy with the tab is like “can you kindly fouchk off please”. How odd would it be someone video recording you while you’re working on your laptop (or tablet if we had one). Would be kind of annoying. Of course if it were a Phandroid we’d be all happy to give an interview as long as you didn’t show our face (i.e. violate an NDA). I’d have given a hands on preview for the Phans less my face or identifying information.

As far as the Tab, I feel like if we’re going to do tablets, they need to be at least 10 inches. I have a 4.3 inch screen on my Droid X, so I need a larger step up than 7 inches. And the Dell Streak is even worse at 5-inches. It’s too awkward to be a phone, yet not big enough to be a tablet.

  4. I’m all for seeing cool stuff in the “wild” but this is like seeing a grizzley bear and seeing how close you can get before it gets pissed. Funny though…

  5. Gotta disagree with Derrick… seeing this video convinced me that 7″ is a perfect form factor for a tablet. The guy was easily holding it in one hand while navigating the screen with the other hand. Every time I see an iPad video the person is holding it in two hands or supporting it on a leg. 10″ is too wide to hold in one hand without it torquing when pressing on the screen.

  6. for me this is the perfect size, the perfect combination between a smartphone and a big-size tablet. The Samsung tab is really nice.
