Huawei’s Ideos U8150-B – a Mid-Range Android 2.2 Handset – Hits the GCF and FCC

Another phone expected to launch with Android 2.2 has just hit the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and has recently also hit the FCC. This time it’s the Huawei U8150-B (otherwise known as the Ideos) and while it’s not the high-end beast you’d expect out of a phone launching with 2.2 on hand these days, it still sounds like it’ll be pretty capable. It errs on the side of mid-ranged, though, and is looking to be launched in Europe and other parts of the world – including the possibility of either AT&T or T-Mobile here in the states picking it up (due to the wide array of quadband GSM and UMTS/HSDPA radios it houses.)

Other features include 512MB of ROM, 256MB of RAM, 13.5 mm thin, a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen, WiFi (up to N), GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 3.2-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. Retailer Clove once had the device listed for 170 British pounds but they’ve since removed it (but the awesomeness that is Google’s cached pages is here to save the day.)
