Motorola’s sending their new messaging phone – the Motorola FlipOut – to China as the Motorola M511. The device – previously only available in parts of Europe – has one of the most unique form factors we’ve seen. It has a full QWERTY keypad that “flips out” to reveal itself. The smallish, squarish device might not be for everyone, but it looks like it could be a fine messaging and social networking driver for anyone that can’t do without a QWERTY.
It comes preinstalled with Android 2.1 with the latest version of MOTOBLUR (resizable widgets!), 3G, WiFi, GPS, WAPI, Bluetooth, FM Radio, and a 3-megapixel camera. The press releases says the device will be available starting at the end of July (translation: right now).
