Four Android Phones by Commtiva That We Had No Idea Existed: Z51, X1, X3, and X5

One of our tipsters just linked us to Commtiva’s site which shows they’ve got more to offer than just the Blaze (which Cincinnati Bell customers have been enjoying for a little while now). The Z51 (below) has a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 5-megapixel with LED flash, a 600MHz processor, 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, and Android 1.6 underneath Commtiva’s custom interface.

The X1 (below) is more of a quirkier fellow. It’s rocking Android 1.5, has an exposed QWERTY keyboard sitting beneath a 2.36-inch QVGA screen. It gets its juice from a 416MHz processor and 256MB of ROM and RAM. The X3 (after the X1) builds on the idea behind the X1 by offering nearly identical specs and features. The two big differences here are the fact that its keyboard is revealed via a portrait mode sliding mechanism, as well as the fact that it only has half the memory that the X1 has.

Finally, the X5 (end of text) takes it back to the simple days of a lone touchscreen with 2.8-inches at QVGA resolutions to help you find your away around. It”ll have a 3-megapixel camera, a 416MHz processor and 256MB of both ROM and RAM.

These phones aren’t wowing or impressing anyone, but I’m sure they’re geared toward the low-end crowd that needs more than just a feature or two (but not anything spectacular) to get them through the day. It would be quite nice to know where the phones will end up – or where they are if they’ve already been released – so we’ve contacted Commtiva for more information.

[Thanks, Nate!]
