A New Garmin-ASUS Phone With AT&T Bands Sneaks Into the FCC, Android?

Now that the Garminfone is out on T-Mobile, another device by Garmin-ASUS – the GPS and turn-by-turn navigation specialists – has appeared. The model number is E600 and is being branded as a Nuvifone. The FCC describes the device as a “PDA Phone” but those are the only details we could come by.

While no mention of Android is to be found, there are a lot of reasons why this could be Android. Firstly – regardless of how you feel about their customization to the OS as exhibited by the Garminfone – they did do an excellent job of giving the device that GPS feel. It would be wasteful to try and go back to another platform for the Nuvifone I would think, so I don’t see any reason why this couldn’t be an Android device.

Even so, we still have to throw this one into the rumor bin as far as its “droid-ness” is concerned, but we’ll be keeping a lookout for more information to turn up soon.
