Today’s just been filled with turn-by-turn: first, T-Mobile’s launching the Garminfone today, and now we’ve learned Google’s opening Maps with Navigation up to more countries outside of the US and UK. Said countries are Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Portugal.
That’s a nicely sized list, and new languages have been added to Voice Search, as well. People who speak French, German, Italian, and Spanish can now have control their search (navigation or otherwise) using their native tongue. Google states that while these languages may be supported, differing accents may cause issues (for instance, if you’re Mexican – whose accents and dialect tends to differ from today’s Spaniards – it might not work so well).
If any of these new locales are up your alley, then I imagine you’ll want to check the Android market for an update.
