Acer Aspire One D260 Brings a Dual-Booting Android Netbook
Acer has announced the new Aspire One D260, offering a pretty sleek Windows 7 netbook with a twist that will be available July 1st. As an option the device can come pre-loaded with Android (version unspecified) to allow for a dual-booting system that can get up and going in 15 seconds when launched with Google’s OS. The D260 sports a 93% standard-size keyboard, 8 hours of battery life, and choice between an Intel Atom N455 ot Atom N450 processor at 1.66Ghz.
Add in a built-in webcam, 10.1-inch LED backlit display at a resolution of 1024×600, and connectivity including Wi-Fi and optional 3G and you’ve got a pretty sweet little netbook. Using Android without a touchscreen may come as a little foreign, on the other hand, but for quickly booting up and surfing the web in seconds it’s a minor adjustment to make.
