Stream Music From Your iTunes Library to Your Android Device With HomePipe
HomePipe Networks is announcing the availability of the latest version of their Android app which lets users stream music from iTunes straight to their devices. You can use your 3G or WiFi connection to stream the music, eliminating the need to carry a big SD card to store your music files (and – in the process – giving you nearly unlimited storage space for all your tunes). You can also access other files on your home PC using the client they provide for Windows or Mac.
Sign up is easy, but they are experiencing delays right now in getting activation emails out. In the meantime, you can download the free app which allows you to test drive the service with some sample folders and libraries set up on their end. The free version is ad supported, but you can download the paid version for $2.99 to get rid of those (I couldn’t see if any paid-specific features were added).
Unfortunately, that’s about all we can say because the test drive didn’t work too well for us (it took a couple of minutes to buffer a 4MB song) and the activation email still has yet to make its way to my inbox. For more information, visit HomePipe now.
