Today is chock full of availability confirmations. Sony Ericsson’s QWERTY-equipped spin-off to the Xperia X10 Mini – the X10 Mini Pro – will be seeing a launch on T-Mobile UK sometime in July. The phone was spotted at the “Coming soon” section of the site and allows interested customers to sign up for details.
The X10 Mini Pro has a 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen and comes preloaded with Android 1.6 (expected to be updated to 2.1 later this year) underneath SE’s unique Mediascape interface. It also comes with a 600mhz Qualcomm processor and 128-megs of RAM.

Now…the question is…
Will this be worth getting rid of my G1 for?
Hell no. Anything to do with Timescape I’m going to avoid like a barge pole, battery hungry and a very slow ui. I assume the one on the x10 mini /pro is a cut down version, but even so I couldn’t do with such a small screen, how are apps such as google maps going to look on it, or web pages. You won’t be able to enjoy android as much. This I believe to be an android phone marketed at people who have no idea what android is and just want a small phone that works.
I know exactly what Android is even before there was Android, and I’m interested in this phone because it’s small, light, and cute. I don’t want to be lugging around a 4-inch dumbbell with girls asking me “is that a very large phone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” questions. Even worse, I don’t want to be seen with a bigass phone clipped onto my belt like a geeky Batman wanna-be.
Besides, a 2.6-inch screen is not too bad when you’re moving up from a 2-inch screen like on my Neonode N2 phone ;).
