Droid Incredible Doesn’t Have Root, Actually… Yet, Anyway
It appears yesterday’s unveiling of the apparent first root for the HTC Droid Incredible was a huge false alarm. Jake Day – one of the developers impersonated in yesterday’s hoax – has posted on his personal blog that he has not yet achieved root and assures us that he’s still actively working on it.
The poster over at AllDroid impersonated Jake with the username “Jake Day” (that forum thread and the one over at XDA has since been deleted by moderators). Jake, however, simply uses “Jake” at AllDroid and many other forums. Chalk this one up to immature kids in the Android community (or scammers looking to get donations for nothing) and move along.
