We were a bit disappointed at the lack of Android announcements at Google I/O yesterday (but not to worry, we’re sure that keynote today will have more than enough to keep us satisfied). Still, some good Android news has come to light even without Google trying: Gingerbread is planned for Q4 2010.
The FAQ for the WebM Project – Google’s new web-enhanced media streaming format – lists that it will be supported in Android, but probably won’t be available until Android’s Gingerbread release. Appended to that is the expectation that Gingerbread might be on its way at the end of the year.
No other details can be had, of course (we’re still waiting to hear full details regarding Froyo), so just take this how you will.
