LG Ally Preorder Coming May 13th?

We knew Verizon will bring its 5th Android phone – the LG Ally – to consumers on May 20th, but we hadn’t heard of a pre-order date up until this point. A Verizon launch package for the LG Ally shows that we’ll be getting the chance to pre-order the device on May 13th, 2010. An LG event is being held today in New York, so it’s possible we’ll get our confirmation out of that camp.

We once believed the phone would ship with a 1ghz Snapdragon processor (ala the long-rumored LG Aloha) but it’s been confirmed that the Ally will be shipping with a 600mhz processor and 256MB of RAM. One interesting spec I saw was that the 3.2-inch touch-screen (TFT) would come with a resolution of 800×480 – something we don’t often see at this size.

The phone will also see the usual round of Verizon apps – including Visual Voicemail and V-CAST Media Manager, and we’ll also be seeing an app called Backup Assistant hitting the Android Market soon. No word on if this app will remain exclusive to the Ally – or even Verizon Android users as a whole – but it’ll be nice to see an app that’ll allow you to automatically back up your contacts (even if it is already synched to the cloud with Google).
