Dear Korea: We’d Like Some Phones, Too; Samsung Galaxy A Launches

Ok so perhaps we can’t get TOO greedy, but Koreans are getting a boatload of Android today. Earlier, we saw the launch of LG’s LU2300 and SU2300 smartphones, and now Samsung is bringing their Android 2.1-enabled Galaxy A to the country, as well. SK Telecom will carry the phone which seems to be a slight downgrade of what we know to be the Samsung Galaxy S.

It has a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, an 800mhz (Cortex A8, presumably) processor, 8gigs of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel camera. The Samsung Galaxy A seems to run their custom TouchWiz 3.0 interface and will come with SK Telecom’s app store as well as several other preinstalled apps.

Any of you guys in Korea foaming at the mouth yet? I would be.  The Galaxy A will be exclusive to Korea, while the Galaxy S looks to be Samsung’s global offering of similar descent.

[Thanks, Samsung Hub]
