Not wanting to miss out on the tablet craze, Asus will be announcing their own take at a device with a name coincidentally similar to ‘iPad.’ The Eee Pad will be an Android-based tablet sporting a webcam, USB connectivity, and Adobe Flash support. The Eee Pad will supplement Asus’ Eee PC (pictued below) line of netbooks, and aims to carve out 10-20 percent of total sales of Eee-branded devices.
The official announcement of the Eee Pad (and many more details) should be coming at Computex 2010. It should be priced right around the $500 mark when it is expected to hit shelves during the third quarter of this year.
