Sagem just dropped their new Puma phone, and while it is not an Android device it was hinted that the company may be looking towards Android for the second iteration. At a pre-launch event for the Puma Phone, the VP of Marketing for Sagem revealed they are considering a scaled down version running Android for a future release.
The first version (pictured above) is just seeing release, but it is likely that the Android Puma Phone 2 would continue the sports and active lifestyle theme of the phone through UI skinning and exclusive apps. I wouldn’t hold your breath, though, because that version of the phone isn’t likely to see release until 2011.
I personally am not a huge fan of cats — I have always been a dog person — but I’m always down for another Android device. The only concern that remains is how effectively they modify and deploy Android on any upcoming handset to fit their branding needs.
