Meet My Motorola Droid (Unboxing Video)

25

Ladies and gents… I’ve got the Motorola Droid from Verizon Wireless! Don’t be deceived by the word “unboxing” as this is more of an “unveiling” but hey – I wanted to let you know I’ve got it and a lot of awesome content, reviews, walk-throughs, guides and info are on the way:

This is the lamest unboxing ever. I admit. But I’ve got the Droid and you’ve got the idea.

UPDATE: Others have unboxed the Droid with the official retail packaging. Here is what it will look like found via YouTube:

  1. I just talked to my buddy who’s a VZW rep and he said there’s no way I’m getting it before 11/6

  2. OH EM GEE, It comes already turned on! (Har har har)

  3. Please dont say personal stories like “Ohh I cant get this cuz Im not due for a renew.” “Ohh I dont get paid until next month so I cant afford it.” No offense, but who cares.

  4. *there’s no way ANYONE’S getting it before 11/6*
Is that less personal for ya SlaveUnit?

  5. I love that click it makes when you open it.

  10. “oh i cant get this because i am on t-mobile”

  12. gotta say i am pretty envious. congrats man

  13. Very cool. I’m very interested in hearing more. I have a Windows Mobile phone that has worked pretty well for me, but having hardware problems. I tried a Blackberry, but was disappointed. I’m particularly in email (POP) and synchronizing calendar and contract, preferably via Outlook. I haven’t seen anything in the reviews so far about these “business” functions yet.

  14. canceled my pre contract today to make room for droid

  15. Hey Rob make sure you do a size comparison. Like hold up a deck playing cards or another phone if you could. Glad you got the the phone man.

  16. I can consume a LOT of motodroid news! :) Looking forward to your news (already have a magic, so wont be upgrading to another android device for a while. But dig the news anyways!! )

  17. very creative there corky

  18. Mind sharing that grey wallpaper that comes with the Droid, now that you got it?
P.S Thanks for all the info you share.

  19. Is that a notification LED I see?!

  20. agree with the size comparison question. Please hold it up to a normal flip phone (like a razor or an alias) because some of use will be making this our first step towards a smart phone. Thanks. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about anything. Lame but true.

  21. And does it connect to computers? Running Windows? Is there a sync app to save contacts to Windows?

  22. Wanna provide a system dump of this for us g1 owning people? The sooner we get a dump the sooner I have eclair on my g1~

  23. Not sure why these “business” and Windows questions are popping up. It syncs your contacts to your Google account. You can sync to Outlook from there. That’s unless something has changed with 2.0 but there’s no desktop sync. However there are now APIs for building sync functionality into apps which to me wiill blow other phones out of the water. The ability to build syincing into any app that’s integrated into a central sync mechanism on the phone is sweet. I’m sorry but the IDont is definitely not leading the way in terms of smartphone functionality any more.

  24. Great to see whats left of American Capitolism in action!
Nice post applesux – but i believe we will see the Droid in early Nov all rumors/pics/ads points to a release on 11/06/09 with the announcement on Oct 28th.
    Powa to da droid!

  25. Nice video thanks for showing us a little more about this sweet phone.
