HTC Hero Videos: Hands-On & Event Footage!

Below is a chronological listing of the video footage I took at the HTC Hero launch event. Unfortunately the battery on my main camera went kaput so I was forced to use my back-up… a Flip non-HD.

Scroll down and see what videos interest you most!

Pre-Event Video Loop
This is the video that was playing prior to the event as everyone gathered and finally the lights turned off:

EVENT BEGINS (Live Blogging Is Hard)
I began to film right as the event kicked off and the HTC CEO stepped on stage. I promptly realized that with one person there was NO way this was all “going down” at once and decided to prioritize – quitting the media and focusing on information with pictures/videos coming later… or in your case now!

Curtain Opens To Unveil HTC Hero Land!
I had paid little attention to the right hand wall when facing the stage… not sure why I would. But when the speakers were finished the curtain actually moved to unveil 4 HTC Hero stations where you could play with the Hero and test it out. I wish I had paid more attention to the wall BEFORE it moved via curtain because I was totally oblivious…

First Hands-On (Short and Interrupted)
Just as I was first getting a look at the HTC Hero a woman from HTC asked me to film an interview. Of course I agreed and at that point the video cuts off. She asked me what I thought of the HTC Hero and I told her the social networking and joint inbox stuff was cool but I was really eager to just spend a couple hours toying around with it… and then I did!

HTC Hero Hands-On Videos (Parts 1, 2 and 3)
I had several different people show me the HTC Hero. Not only because each station was supposed to illustrate a different pillar as identified in the video, but because different demonstrators have different things they favor and like to highlight. Please forgive the terrible video quality – hopefully we’ll get some additional hands on time with the Hero but I can’t make any promises so these are what you get for now!

HTC Hero Speakerphone
Most mobile phone speakerphones seem to stink. Nowadays we especially need them for things like GPS navigation voices and music. At first use – in a crowded and loud room – the HTC Hero Speakerphone seemed to be exceptionally loud which is a GREAT thing. I’d like to test this out some more but I was pretty impressed with the volume level.

I’ll have more detailed opinions about specifics of the phone later today/tonight in a “first impressions” review article. Although I maintain you really need to “live” with a device for a week or so to fully appreciate the ins-and-outs or understand specific gripes from daily use.

Nonetheless… I”m off to get me some more HTC Hero goodness!
