T-Mobile Event May Be For BlackBerry

Yesterday we told you about a T-Mobile shindig going down in New York City on April 21st. While we hoped it would be the announcement of the T-Mobile G2, we speculated (along with the rest of the interwebz) that it could also be a launch event for the T-Mobile Sidekick 3G. Now it appears that “none of the above” could apply.

T-Mobile is also holding an event in London on the same exact day that is in conjunction with RIM, owners of the BlackBerry brand. An invitation was sent to Pocket-lint which said: “T-Mobile and RIM invite you to the launch of their exciting new BlackBerry collaboration.” So it seems that Android fans may be out of luck.

Yet another possibility is contrived by a Phandroid commenter, Michael, who points out that the announcement coincides with the launch of BlueTooth 3.0. Could the announcement be about the launch of the first Bluetooth 3.0 device, launching on T-Mobile?

While I wish we could confirm some type of Android release, you have to give credit to T-Mobile for keeping the subject of the day under wraps. And to be honest, it makes the event more exciting. Days like these are always fun for both speculating and examining the aftermath.
