T-Mobile Mytouch 4G Slide Overview

The HTC T-Mobile Mytouch 4G Slide first appeared on Phandroid's radar as the HTC DoubleShot in early March 2011 at which time we only had a preliminary list of specs and FCC filings to go on. Some folks speculated that the phone's code name of "DoubleShot" might refer to dual 3D cameras (as seen in some spec leaks).

With the official press release from T-Mobile we learned that this device is being marketed as an "advanced camera phone" putting the spotlight on the device's high quality 8MP camera with improved low-light performance thanks to its backside illuminated sensor and wide aperture lens (f/2.2). Here are some more camera features:

Zero shutter lag: innovative software features allow for an instantaneous shot at that precise moment
SweepShot™: for capturing panoramic shots by sweeping across an entire scene in a single motion
ClearShot™ HDR: for capturing objects in bright settings so your photos are not affected by high-contrast lighting
BurstShot™: for capturing multiple photos in a quick burst so you don’t miss the perfect photo

Other quick specs include a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM and Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Sense 3.0.

The Mytouch 4G Slide is available in both black and kahaki color and will take full advantage of T-Mobile's HSPA+ 4G data speeds. This phone might not only replace your old smartphone but that aging point-and-shoot as well.
