Samsung Fascinate Overview

The Samsung Fascinate is the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones. Much like it's brothers, it includes the same 5.0MP camera capable of taking some of the best quality 720p HD video at 30fps. Unlike the other Galaxy S phones in the states, its one of the thinnest out of the bunch and features an LED flash for low light snap shots. With a 1GHz Hummingbird processor it can easily speed through everyday tasks and features one of the most powerful GPU's for smooth gaming.

It can easily be considered as one of - if not the best of the Galaxy S lineup here in the states and it's on one of the largest networks in the U.S.

Samsung Fascinate Reviews

CNET
"Sleek and powerful, the Samsung Fascinate is another strong addition to Verizon's Android lineup. Its user interface won't appeal to everyone, particularly seasoned Android users, but it's a good smartphone for the masses."
InfoSyncWorld
"The Samsung Fascinate is still a top notch device, though it might need a little more in order to compete in this dog-eat-dog world of smartphones."
Engadget
"When it comes to Android on Verizon, there are some seriously excellent choices, and what it has to come down to is: is the Fascinate at the top of that heap? From where we stand, the answer is an obvious [no.]"
Brighthand
"I would have no qualms in recommending the Fascinate to anyone who is interested in a Galaxy S device, prefers something that looks like an iPhone, but wants the service quality of Verizon. This is nevertheless a solid model for users who are used to the type of "put together" products that Verizon offers."
Phonedog
"The Fascinate is a decent device and a nice alternative to the DROID line, but the Verizon-inspired changes and random quirks are frustrating."
Phonearena
"When it comes right down to it, there’s a lot we like about the Samsung Fascinate, mainly its styling and hardware, such as the impressive Super AMOLED screen and 1GHz Hummingbird processor. But at the same time we feel that the software, mainly the TouchWiz UI, is holding the device back. While we can appreciate what Samsung attempted to do with the UI, it in turn makes the Fascinate feel less like an Android phone, and with the addition of the Bing search, one might mistake the device for a Windows Mobile phone upon first glance. At this point, we can only hope that the Android 2.2 update will soon give the Fascinate that “Google feel” that people expect when using an Android device, because it’s lacking that feeling right now. But if you are OK with that, or plan to use something like LauncherPro to allow for more customization of the home screens, then the Fascinate is one device that’s hard to beat."
PC World
"With its user-friendly interface and elegant design, the Samsung Fascinate is a strong addition to Verizon’s growing portfolio of Android superphones."
Android Central
"We said at the top of this review that we weren't going to make this entire revew about Verizon's Bing deal with Microsoft. And there's good reason for that. Save for the whole Bing thing (could it really be called anything else?), the Facinate -- like the other Galaxy S phones -- is a top-shelf smartphone. The screen size is just about perfect. The processor and memory are more than adequate."
MobileTechReview
"It's hard not to love the Samsung Fascinate. Like all Samsung's Galaxy S phones, it's slim, very fast and has an absolutely wonderful Super AMOLED display. This is a superphone and as such it has a large, high resolution 800 x 480 display, 1GHz of computing power, a very good 5 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. What's not to like? Our biggest complaint is the absent Google search, but that will return as an option once the Froyo Android 2.2 update is available. Given Verizon's very strong lineup of high end Android phones, it's not easy picking between them. If you don't need a hardware QWERTY keyboard, the Droid Incredible, Droid X and Samsung Fascinate are all strong contenders. It comes down to which you like the looks of best, how large a display you want and which manufacturer software customizations resonate most. No matter which you pick, you'll do just fine. But we say it's hard to resist the Samsung Fascinate's awesome display, excellent multimedia performance and slim design."
Phandroid
"If there’s anything pulling you in from any of the other Galaxy S phones and you can’t leave Verizon, then the Fascinate should be absolutely fine."
