Motorola Devour Reviews

Gizmodo: Likes the keyboard
Gizmodo seem to like the "elegant design" but don't think much of the cameras quality
Phandroid: "seems like the most solid Android phone out there"
Our very own Rob Jackson got his hands on a device. He seems to like. He likes the solid feel of the phone but points out and shows how poor the camera actually is
Mobilecrunch: "Good interface performance"
Mobilecrunch seem to like that the 'Blur' UI performs well on the DEVOUR's 600 mHz Processor. They do think the keyboard is "cramped" and the phone is rather heavy.
Engadget: "capacitive touchscreen is nicely responsive"
Engadget shares that the DEVOUR performs quite well and is responsive, they do however feel that the keys on the keyboard are a bit "flat".

Verizon Giving Away the Motorola Devour Free with New 2-Year Contract

Verizon hasn’t given up on the Motorola Devour yet. Either that or they are trying to clear their inventory shelves of in-stock units quickly to the tune of some new two-year activations. Either way you can snag the Devour free right now as part of an online exclusive when you sign up for a new [...]

Verizon Announces Pre-Paid Data Plans for 3G Smartphones including Entire Droid Line

Just as leaked documents suggested earlier in the week, Verizon has officially announced the arrival of pre-paid data plans for their 3G devices, including BlackBerry and Android smartphones. The new deal provides unlimited data at a contract-free rate of $30 per month. For feature phones they are also making available a $10/25 MB per month [...]

Motorola Updates Upgrade Timeline, The Wait Continues

Motorola – one of the better manufacturers when it comes to transparency in their upgrade plans – has once again updated their chart to reflect the latest ETA on upgrades for several of their phone. We’re still waiting for Eclair to hit the CLIQ and CLIQ XT, but it shouldn’t be a long wait now [...]

Motorola Devour to Receive Update Tomorrow, Not Android 2.1

Verizon must be in an update happy mood as of late, first gracing us with Froyo on the Motorola Droid and now following up with an update to the Motorola Devour. Software version CALAND_X_01.15.10 won’t bring the Devour to anything 2.1 or higher, but it will provide enhancements and improvements to voice-mail, V Cast video [...]

The Motorola Devour Has Been Rooted

It’s been a long time coming (the device has been out since March) but Motorola Devour users can now finally say they’ve gotten the ability to root their phones. The exploit was found when some eagle-eyed hackers took what they learned from the Droid X’s root method and set out to finally crack the now-dated [...]

Original Motorola Droid, Devour Nearing End-of-Life?

Uh-oh. Those dreaded “end-of-life” rumors are starting back up again. This time, the original Motorola Droid and Motorola’s forgotten Devour might be on that list of devices headed out of the mill. DroidForums caught wind of an internal screen showing both of the devices as “limited” or with “no remaining shipments” to be had from [...]

Motorola’s Android 2.1 Upgrade Timeline Gets An Update

Over the weekend, it appears that Motorola has updated their chart outlining upgrades for several of their Android-based phones. Most phones are still only planned to be receiving Android 2.1 (Motorola Droid’s rollout has finished, while the Milestone is still currently being rolled out in stages for other international markets). For the Motorola Backflip, they’re [...]

Motorola Devour Could Be Getting Updated Soon, Won’t Be 2.1

It’s easy to forget about Verizon’s latest phone with all of the fuss about their upcoming Droid Incredible (HTC Incredible if you aren’t used to the new name, yet). Android Central leaked a flier which shows that an update for the Motorola Devour is on its way. This isn’t the big 2.1 update we’re looking [...]

Ochocinco And MOTOBLUR Continue To Inform Millions On The Motorola Devour

The marriage between NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and Motorola is a very unlikely one. Soon after the announcement of their Cliq (Get it? No? It was worth a shot.), we learned that the two would move forward in promoting MOTOBLUR – the custom Android UI that Motorola is using to set themselves apart and [...]

Skype Works On All Verizon’s Android Phones

Last month we learned that Verizon Wireless was officially partnering with Skype to bring an unprecedented feature set to mobile phone users in America. Exactly what that would entail? We weren’t told – we were just told some sort of integration would make it all worthwhile and it wasn’t hard to guess the options. Now [...]

Motorola Devour Review

Until I held the Motorola Devour in my hands, I assumed it would be a lighter, more plasticky version of the Motorola Droid with weaker specs but a better keyboard. As you’ll learn in this review, my perception gradually quickly changed. It’s difficult to review the Devour on it’s own merits when it has the [...]

From The Motorola Devour To You

I’m writing this post from the Motorola Devour. To write a review of worthwhile substance you have to know the subject matter and in this instance I get a lot of hands on time with the keyboard. I was expecting a lot out of this keyboard and at first was a bit disappointed but there [...]

Ladies and gentlemen, I know have the Motorola Devour in my possession. It’s Verizon’s 3rd Android Phone and launches at BestBuy February 25th followed by VZW retail stores in March. Oversized Motorola Devour Display Arriving In Stores
