Barnes & Noble NOOK HD

Last updated: Sep 26th, 2012.

Nook has been a great player in the Android ecosystem, starting with the Nook color. This tablet was very popular for its affordability, as well as its sucessor, the Nook Tablet. Now Barnes & Noble is stepping up its game with a whole new plan - NOOK HD.

This version of the NOOK HD features some fair specs for its $199 price. It comes with a 1.3 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and a very nice 7-inch 1440x900p display. It is safe to say this tablet is directly competing with Amazon's Kindle Fire offerings, with the same price-point, same content-oriented aproach and even similar name schemes. And based on what we are seeing, Barnes & Noble is proving to be a worthy rival.
