Amazon Kindle Fire (1st Gen)

The Amazon Kindle Fire is Amazon's first tablet and it runs Android. At its core will be Android 2.3, but Amazon has heavily customized the user interface. It's a device that tightly integrates into many of Amazon's services, including video, books, music, cloud storage, Appstore and a lot more. It has a dual-core processor inside, a 7 inch display and more.

Amazon looked to challenge their competitor - Barnes & Noble - with the device with a very attractive $200 price tag. Amazon also has great leverage in its growing Appstore, boasting thousands of app free and paid apps and games for users to download. Along with all of the other services, Amazon does one-up their competition in many ways.

Samsung schedules June 2nd event in New York

Samsung has begun sending out press invites for a June 2nd event in NYC. It’s not an Unpacked event, but we expect to see something new announced. Something tells us the Gear Fit 2 and other accessories will be in attendance, but it’s tough to say for sure.
