Everyone seems to have a drone these days. They started out pretty big and hard to travel with, but lately, they’ve been getting smaller. Last year, DJI made waves with the impressive Mavic Pro, which could easily fit in a backpack. But that wasn’t small enough for DJI.
The latest drone from DJI, probably the biggest drone manufacturer in the world, is about the size of a soda can. The Spark weighs in at just 0.6 pounds, but it still has a ton of powerful features. And you can enjoy it for only $499, which is considerably cheaper than all the other DJI drones.
Spark has the intelligent controls you expect from DJI, including ActiveTrack and TapFly. The battery will last for around 16 minutes of flight time on a single charge. The camera can shoot 1080p video and 12MP photos. It has a two-axis gimbal for stabilization. Spark has a top speed of 13 mph and it can avoid obstacles.
The DJI Spark will be available in mid-June, but you can pre-order it right now. It’s available in white, blue, green, red, and yellow. DJI will also offer an accessory package for an additional $200.
