[Update: They’re Gone!] Hurry and grab your FREE OnePlus Loop VR headset before they are all gone

[Update]: Aaaaaand they’re gone. We were expecting them to sell out fast, but sheesh!

Loop

OnePlus has been changing the way that we think about smartphones and product launches with both the OnePlus and OnePlus 2. When the company launched the OnePlus 2, they did so using Cardboard headsets, allowing for an immersive experience during the product announcement. With the OnePlus 3 launch, the company is looking to revolutionize things yet again.

If you head over to the OnePlus 3 forum page, you can order a OnePlus Loop Headset, allowing you to view the product launch in Virtual Reality similar to the way the company introduced the OnePlus 2. What’s different this time is that 1) the headset looks more like the Samsung Gear VR, and 2) OnePlus is creating a virtual storefront for users to purchase the OnePlus 3.

The Loop Headset has the looks of the Gear VR, and is a huge improvement over the simplistic Cardboard that was given away for the launch of the OnePlus 2. The headset is said to work with most 5″-6″ mobile devices, and includes head-straps, so you don’t have to actually hold anything during the announcement and interactions.

Doing the world’s first product launch in VR was cool in 2015. In 2016, the OnePlus 3 launch will be the world’s first global shopping experience in VR. Visitors to The Loop will be able to order the OnePlus 3 before anyone else, in VR.

As for what we are expecting out of the OnePlus 3, the rumors have been aplenty. For one, apparently the device “feels good to hold” which is something you would expect the CEO of the company to say. But for real through, the OnePlus 3 is expected to include a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB and 6GB of RAM variants, and a 16MP camera.

Although the headset is free, there’s a catch. OnePlus is only making 30,000 of these headsets available and you’ll need to pay the shipping costs if you want to get your hands on one. So be sure to check out the link below and grab your own headset before they are all gone.

PRO-TIP: If you want to order the Loop Headset, click this link here, then change the “UK” in the URL to your specific country code. There seems to be some issues on OnePlus’ side of things, and this is the workaround to get the Loop Headset.
