We were unsure about some of the specs we’re going to get with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, but praise be to benchmarks because GFXBench has provided our first answers. The device took a spin through the benchmarking app to reveal a more exact idea of what to expect from the device’s internals.
As we expected, Samsung is going to hook rugged fans up with the same level of power as seen in the base flagship model:
- 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
- 4GB of RAM, 32GB of Storage
- 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera
- NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, etc
Unfortunately, it looks like Active owners won’t be getting the heart rate sensor, but we’re not so sure anyone is crying over that. We’re also unlikely to see a fingerprint sensor, though we were already expecting that considering last year’s model also excluded one.
Still, it’s nice to get a rugged phone that doesn’t trade power for affordability. The only issue for anyone watering at the mouth for this is that they’ll have to be on AT&T to grab one. Otherwise, you’ll have to look on with jealousy or import one for use on any GSM carrier.
