The Motorola DROID Turbo 2 has been out for a couple of months, and one vocal, understandably angry group hasn’t had the most joyous of times. Folks have been affected by a very bad bug dating back as far as mid-November that makes an ugly green line appear on the display at random.
Reports have flooded into Motorola’s forums, and to their credit Motorola has tried to help as many people as they could by facilitating replacements. But it’s January 2016, and there are still new reports of this issue turning up and no known fix coming to eradicate it.
Motorola’s early response was that the issue may be caused by the device being dropped, but many people contend that they have yet to drop their device. Some even say the issue comes and goes on its own with no real rhyme or reason.
And even if the drop excuse were valid, we’d say it’s pretty sore to admit that their big “Shatterproof Display” claim doesn’t rule out that their display can still be affected by drops (even if they aren’t technically being shattered).
We still aren’t sure if it’s a hardware or software issue, but we’ll be looking to get word from Verizon or Motorola about it and any potential fix. In the meantime, if you’re affected by this issue then you’ll surely want to give one of the two companies a call to see about getting a replacement, and keep your fingers crossed that your next unit isn’t ailed by similar issues.
