Great news for ROM flashing addicts. Ahead of the HTC One “Google Edition” hitting the Google Play Store, HTC’s already thrown up the kernel source for the device up on HTCDev. What does this mean for you? Well, unless you like to tinker around with the software on your HTC One… not much. But for those running AOSP ROMs, this should help smooth up some of the rough patches experienced in some custom ROMs. ROM devs, hit up the source link and get to work!

Awesome we should see some custom kernels by the end of weekend ….fingers crossed..
pfft…try hours.
xda will have kernels and roms using them up within hours. (I’ll be avoiding the HTC One forums for a day or two to avoid the spam and initial builds, but you can bet they’ll be there very shortly.)
Way to go HTC! I love to see them embracing the developer community.

I agree. Awesome move on their part, but then again I shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve always liked HTC.
Yes! Can’t wait for the rest. The camera (front facing) on CM needs some help and the lockscreen lags a bit. I’m very happy HTC has decided to release some of this. It will really contribute to better performing ROMs.
This is “news” because HTC usually likes to make the dev community wait 2-3 months for source…..then again this probably put out promptly because Google demanded it.
Ill wait for the official download from HTC when its available.
