LG to show us how to “live without boundaries” September 19th

18

It looks like LG’s looking to drop something big son. They’ve started issuing press invites for an event set to take place in New York September 19th. It’ll be a joint event with Qualcomm, and their goal will be to show us how we can live without boundaries. They’re no doubt teasing a phone, and we have strong reason to believe it’s going to be the LG Optimus G.

The device has been hyped to no end by LG for other markets and to think it won’t eventually make its way to the United States is a bit foolish. LG has a lot of ground to make up after a disappointing streak as of late, and they feel like the Optimus G will be the device to turn the tide.

We’re expecting the Optimus G to feature a 4.7 inch display, Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 13 megapixel 1080p HD camera, and more.

The specs sound like they promise to turn the tech world upside down, but it’ll be the device’s build quality and software that should determine whether or not LG is on the right path. Circle back on September 19th as we look to bring you more details straight from New York.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. I want this phone. But I’m just hesitant that lg will actually provide updates in any reasonable time, let alone advance with new Android versions

  2. Make it nexus device and it will be a clear winner.

  3. can’t wait, still hoping we will get to see some Nexus news soon, mid September and still no solid evidence of an upcoming nexus.

  4. Please Google, make a nexus version of this beastly phone!!

  5. looking good LG kick apple ass in these presentation show them what technology really is and same for Sony xperia T

  6. LG OR SONY? SONY OR LG? Thats the question?
what you think guys this phone or Xperia T?

    1. Einhorn and Finkle… Finkle and Einhorn…

      1. I wish I could +100 this response…lmao!

  7. If only LG would release this with stock android there would nothing bad to say about it!

  8. Please put this on Verizon with a stock JB

  9. LG Optimus Nexus……are you hearing us Google. It’s LG’s time to shine. NO MORE PLASTIC PHONES (Samsung)!!!!!

  10. Sounds nice… but…. it’s LG. :'(

  11. Got burned by LG with the Spectrum. No updates, no dev support….what a waste of what amounted to some really decent hardware,,,,now both of them sit unused…(even using them as alarms/media players is frustrating to no end…the lag is unbearable.)

The specs look amazing on this, but I would definitely hesitate to buy one until LG started rolling out updates or there was some major 3rd party (AOKP/COM) dev support.

  12. A Nexus with these specs please.

  13. Hope it launches with Jelly Bean cause God knows they’re not going to upgrade it.

  14. Even the back is full of technology:
“The Crystal Reflection process used for the first
time on the back of LG’s new Optimus G smartphone was developed and
patented over a period of 15 months. Crystal Reflection gives the
Optimus G’s back cover the ability to display different patterns
depending on the viewing angle and lighting. The intricate polarized 3D
pattern, which sparkles just under the surface, looks almost jewel-like.
Laser cutting adds to the clean finish, as do the metallic highlights.”

  15. Wow! This phone would be epic if it wasn’t LG… :(
