Rumors about a purported Amazon “Kindle phone” are heating up, this time with the Wall Street Journal now reporting the device is in fact a reality and could launch as early as this year. According to their inside sources, the device will feature a display between 4 and 5 inches (but that’s pretty much a no brainer), and is currently in its testing phase with mass production scheduled for late 2012 or early 2013. Really, it’s no longer a question of “if” for an Amazon-phone, only “when.”
Not for me, but it’ll be great for folks that bought into the Kindle ecosystem.
if its as easily hackable as the fire you could put ICS on it and have a full fledged phone. And it could drive down the prices of off contract phones….
I wonder what carrier it will be on?
