As part of the leadup to the release of Angry Birds Space on March 22nd, Rovio unveiled a special video today to show some off some of the new gameplay physics we can expect in the game. Rather than showing us a boring demo of the actual game, the Angry Birds took to the International Space Station where we are walked through the process of flinging a bird in zero gravity by an actual astronaut. The game will include “planetary bodies” that will have a gravitational effect on the trajectory of launched birds, adding a new element to take into consideration when attempting to snatch back those eggs from the evil pig army. Good to see Rovio bringing a truly fresh take on the series after countless update packs providing little more than new levels.

I can’t wait, looks awesome!
Can’t wait.
But I gotta finish up Seasons and do all of Rio first!
I can’t wait to play this on my Note. :)
Your tax dollars at work, kids.
*Sigh*
Pretty sad to see NASA whoring themselves out like this, but I guess they gotta take donations from anyone who’ll give ’em.
I thought that it was awesome. Science needs publicity.
If you really were a scientist, then you’d know that they’ve been using the space station as well as the shuttle missions in the past to help do science and math outreach to kids. Using a game the kids know well is just another way for them to do that.
Reminds me of Mario Galaxy a bit
Here is to hoping they actually sell it on Android instead of just doing the ad supported one. Id much rather drop a buck than have it lag for a split second when it refreshes the ad.
Amazon App Store?
Looks awesome. Great to see game demo on an Android phone.
Funny how they don’t put the OS names in alphabetical order, though….
:) this was a really cool video.
Well this commercial must have been expensive…
This is the first iteration of AB I actually like.
Anything that gets kids interested in physics and space is AOK in my book
I hear the next Angry Birds will try to simulate quantum mechanics at the atomic level (we’re talking really tiny eggs here!) for the ultimate physics based game.
Woulda been nice if he wasn’t talking to me like I’m fucking 5. Some of us actually graduated from high school and *gasp* went on to college
One of my all time favorite games was spaced penguin, so I can’t wait to give this a try. Should be a blast!
This reminds me of mario galaxy
This have to be the coolest video ever
Well that is it for me and Angry Birds, slime ball NASA (Not Any Science Achieved) using anything they can to promote the waste of billions.
Sorry Rovio! Angry Birds DELETED for good!
