HTC DROID Incredible 2, HTC Merge Show Up in Verizon Inventory

8

We’ve been expecting Verizon to announce a follow-up to the HTC DROID Incredible for a long while. Most thought that the Thunderbolt would be considered the device’s sequel, but HTC ended up debuting one Incredible S at Mobile World Congress. While that particular device is only officially headed for Europe at the moment, Engadget has uncovered some inventory shots showing what looks to be evidence of an HTC Incredible 2.

There’s no way to tell if this’ll be similar to the Incredible S, but we’d bet our bank on it. (And we wouldn’t be surprised if Verizon injects a pretty LTE radio inside.) Also showing up – yet again – is the HTC Merge. It isn’t the first time it’s been spotted in Verizon’s inventory system, and we’re almost 100% certain it won’t be the last. We’ll be looking out for more as the weeks move on.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. It’s curious that Verizon is adopting some HTC phones and branding them as “Droid” while some HTC phones (well, at least the Thunderbolt) have no Droid branding whatsoever. Before the thunderbolt I pretty much expected all high end Android devices on Verizon to be Droid branded.

  2. It’s the great message by HTC because I am sure that this model will be new hit of sale.

  3. I openly welcome the htc incredible 2 as well as the htc merge…Nothing beats HTC the are the best manufracturer on the planet in my world..Now hopefully htc will announce more related htc devices at the upcoming CTIA event on March 22nd…We should be hearing about the Htc Pyramid as well as the new Htc evo 2 4g…The profolio of htc devices are clearly the best on all carriers…Android benefits from this completely…

  4. I’m not sure why that is so curious.

  5. It hadn’t better be the Incredible S. That phone is just a modified Incredible, and NOT worthy of the title of Incredible 2. Any phone to take that name on, would need to be..well…Incredible.

With the Inc2 being the only phone even rumored at that could interest me in upgrading from the Inc, if it’s just the Incredible S(orta), then I’ll just wait for the next real phone upgrade…and it might not be HTC this time.

  6. It ain’t nothing but a thing, man.

  7. The incredible 2 wont b 4g capable…it wont have a ffc either

  8. I was at Verizon upgrading my phone on Feb28 and was told by employee that the Incredible 2 was being released March15 and would be on their 4g network….unfortunately I had to upgrade that day for several reasons so couldnt wait for it and my 14day trial for the new phone will be up by then :( sucks too because I’m not really lovin the samsung fascinate I got-sound quality during calls is worst I’ve ever had on any phone, rest is pretty good.
