Goodbye, Moto X? Lenovo could drop Moto X branding this year

Earlier this year we heard that the Motorola brand could eventually be phased out completely. If a recent cryptic tweet from @evleaks is any indication, the Moto brand could be gone sooner than we thought.

Like Motorola leaks before it, the Moto X 2016 appears to have been spotted in the wild. The front of the device has a familiar Motorola branding indicating a pre-production unit, along with a front facing fingerprint sensor. Looks like Motorola could be ditching stereo front facing speakers as found on the Moto X 2014 and 2015.

Lenovo phone passes import database as “Moto X3”

Well, now, what have we here? Another Zauba entry tipping us off to another incoming phone? This time, a Lenovo device is making its way through the import database. It’s listed there as the Moto X3.
