It’s all cool to take pictures from the ground, but if there’s something that cannot be understated, it’s being able to take an overhead picture. Of course, you can’t just hop in a plane or helicopter whenever you want, so drones are here to help with that.

Best Drones Overall

Experienced drone pilots have put in the time needed to avoid any major disasters (outside of mother nature), and with these drones, you will be able to record some absolutely incredible footage. Plus, there are a few different options here, that can fill whatever you have, regardless of its a small and lightweight drone, or having the best camera possible.

DJI Mavic Mini
DJI's various drones are all pretty phenomenal, but the Mavic Mini might just take the cake. This lightweight drone sports a 30-minute flight time and weighs just 249 grams, which is placed in the lowest and safest weight class for all drones. You can take 12MP photos, or record QHD videos at a 2.7K resolution, all while taking advantage of the built-in 3-axis mechanical gimbal.
DJI Mavic 2 Pro
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is the end-all-be-all for many drone enthusiasts. This drone sports a 20MP sensor, can record 4K HDR video, and can fly as fast as 48MPH. Flight time comes in around 30 minutes, and there's an SD card slot capable of supporting up to 128GB.
Parrot Anafi
Parrot's Anafi drone not only is a great drone with its ability to record 4K HDR video, but can also snap 21MP pictures and comes with a slew of accessories. In addition to the drone, there's a carrying case, two batteries, and a controller that features a cable to keep your phone charged while you're using the Anafi.
DJI Mavic Air 2
This quadcopter drone from DJI provides the ability to record an 8K Hyperlapse video, along with a 48MP camera sensor and more than 30 minutes of flight time. When you're done flying for the day, you can fold up the wings and stow it away in a compact case for easy travel.

Best Drones on a Budget

The problem with some of the best drones is that they can be rather pricey and that’s not something you may want to take on if you’re just getting started. Thankfully, drones have grown in popularity so much that you can still get a great experience without breaking the bank, or you can get your kids involved in the fun and don’t have to worry about expensive replacement costs.

Holy Stone HS110D
The Holy Stone HS110D is a great beginner drone, or just a low-budget option for someone who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg. The package includes a rather interesting controller, along with two additional batteries so you won't have to leave the airfield before you're ready to.

AKASO A31
The ASKASO A31 is another great drone for beginners or the kids, thanks to its ease-of-use, along with the accompanying app that's available on both iOS and Android. The included controller makes it simple to take off or land the A31, or you can use the controller to maintain the current altitude if you're trying to catch a specific shot.
