Sprint announced today, the newest cities who will be first in line to enjoy their future 4G LTE rollout with the additions of Baltimore (where 2 Phandroid writers currently reside) and Kansas City, who will be joining in on the festivities. These 2 new cities are the latest cities to have been officially announced along with others like Atlanta, Dalls, Houston and San Antonio also scheduled to receive 4G LTE sometime during the middle of this year.
The first LTE devices to take advantage of this new network will be the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus as well as the LG Viper 4G LTE. Thankfully, I have the EVO 3D so by the time my contract is up LTE should be hitting my area. I’m actually very happy with when I purchased my cell phone considering how far LTE is for a lot of Sprint users.

Im a sprint user for now, and Im fed up with the rediculously slow 3g speeds I’ve been getting, and 4g is only good outside. Im jumping ship when my contract is up in a few months. I’ll suck it up and pay for verizon until sprint gets its speeds up.
If your contract isn’t up for a couple of months, you might as well stick around for the GNex release.

Why would you “hold out” for the GNex right now? Its a great phone, but by the time it comes out, the GSIII (or a couple other big phones) will be only a few weeks behind
While it may seem stupid, I want to test out the ‘Google Experience’. I don’t want to wait for OEMs to get their shit together in order to release updates. I rather Google be working on it than say.. HTC, LG, Moto, or Samsung.
The nexus line doesnt Always get the greatest updates (ie. ICS on the Nexus s) but i get what your goin for

Im in the heart of baltimore and im definately stoked to try out some LTE. But as far as a Gnex, no way would I upgrade to a phone that will be 6-9 months outdated by the time it hits sprint. There will be atleast 2 phones announced that will be better. I have 2 upgrades this year and im not wasting them.
Sprint coverage in Springfield, MO is awful. I get around 50-130 kbps down on “3G”, and I always lose coverage in the middle of town! I get 1-3 bars throughout most of the city. We have Wimax, which I bet most people don’t know about because its coverage is about a quarter-mile radius downtown. They always say that they’re upgrading the network, but I’ve finally accepted that they aren’t talking about Springfield’s network.
Wow! This brings them up to like 8 cities! By the end of 2012, they will cover nearly 8% of America! Nice work Sprint!
