Some time ago, Verizon detailed new cities getting 4G LTE coverage and expansions. We’ll have the full list for you in a bit, but this is just a reminder that the new markets are now lit up – go ahead and check for the insane data speeds afforded with Verizon 4G if you haven’t already tried. Yes!
Savannah, GA on November 17th. I’m excited since galaxy nexus will be out.
LOL. I just left Albuquerque last week, I was there for a conference. The internet in the hotel and all the cellular networks were painfully slow. Of course VZW fires up LTE a few days after I leave. :)
They are trying to get the nation covered in LTE before the Nexus hits ;)
This (and the Nexus) are probably going to make me drop T-Mobile. My market is sure to get LTE from Verizon before any other carrier brings 4G.
T-mobile…have not heard of a roll out from them…in…well idont remember when…yet they claim to have the largest H…I mean 4g? lol.
T-Mobile is going with HSPA+42 instead of LTE. My city already has HSPA+42 and I get about 20 Mbps on average, and frequently as high as 30 Mbps. This is on my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. Verizon has rolled out their LTE here also, but I’ve tried the Thunderbolt in their stores and its sad in comparison – best I’ve ever seen was 16 Mbps down. YMMV, of course.
Check your list. I know Sioux City has 4G
People often whine about Verizon’s prices. I have no problem paying a few extra bucks a month knowing I’ll get a signal pretty much anywhere (even in a building), and the fact that Verizon knows what “aggressive expansion” actually is. It sucks they went to tiered data, but I’m grandfathered in on unlimited, so no worries for me.
If Dan Hesse looks in his little dictionary for “aggressive expansion”, sees Verizon’s LTE expansion, and applies it to his own company, keeps unlimited data forever whithout raising the price, and I can get signals inside, I’ll jump to Sprint, but I just don’t see it happening. Ever.
Except in my building. All of my co-workers that have Verizon can barely get a 3g signal much less 4g lte. I have a great signal however, and am on AT&T. I’m not an AT&T fanatic by any means. I hate the direction they’re taking. I have no reason to switch because I get great coverage everywhere I go, and a grandfathered unlimited data plan. In fact, I have unlimited text, talk, and data for only $60 a month. Thank you Google Voice!!
Some commercial buildings have metallic film on the windows to reflect the sun and save on cooling costs. Do a search for “zBoost SOHO YX545”, great product.
I had VZW TBOLT and I am living in the middle of what VZW call it 4GLTE area, I never had good luck or to reach ful bar inside my working place, always ZERO bar, on the speed test on VZW 4GLTE all what I got 5 mps, that`s when I get the LTE… And I have to pay extra for that, no thanks VZW.
And the “aggressive expansion”, the I seen it JUst anther outage. Which Sprint service never had… So good luck to you and your VZW service.
I don’t know what to tell you, except that YMMV. I’ve had a TBolt from day one, I myself live in the middle of an LTE area, and never have any problems. I’ve only had one outage in my area (the same one everyone had several months ago). Why are you paying extra for LTE? I wasn’t aware that VZW charged extra for it, I thought they just charged for data, I pay $30/month unlimited (grandfathered). Are you using a stock TBolt, or is yours rooted? I usually average 15-20Mbps down in my area, but again, YMMV, I’ve been in places where I’ve only got 5 down on LTE. If Sprint works better for you, use Sprint! They’re cheaper anyway; no point ion paying more for a service that you consider sub-par.
I’m not a “fanboy” of any carrier or manufacturer, that’s just stupid.I am a fan of what works. I only stick with Verizon because they’ve always have had the most reliable service for me.
It sucks that you are having a bad experience, try rooting your phone and flashing the MR2/MR2.5 radio. Also, using the LTEOnOff app can help. I don’t know what el;se to tell ya, a lot of people have complained about reboots on the TBolts, but I’ve never had that problem, but I also never run stock ROMs on any Android phone I’ve ever owned. *shrugs*
Damn indiana is getting lte everywhere l, time to switch to Verizon
Yeah I’m not sure why, but I’m not complaining. I never saw Carmel or Noblesville on their roll out lists but my brother was picking up 4G on his Bionic pretty easily a couple weeks ago. I don’t know how long they’ve had 4G in those areas.
Buffalo finally gts 4g
what happened to VA???
We got it but we aren’t on the list for some reason.
In the buffalo suburbs….no LTE…droid bionic
I’m in Amherst and I’ve had a tough time getting signal all day. The only time I really got it was when I was outside.
“Greater” Erie……really?!? The nothingness and water need 4G?? LOL!
hmm How long can T-Mobile say “Largest” ??
As long as they want to. When Sprint first started using WiMax, they just took it upon themselves to call it “4G”. There is no honesty in advertising in the mobile industry.
Sadface. LTE all around my area, but none for me…
The greater Hampton Roads area in VA got 4G today. Your list is missing items.
We got 4G in Richmond about 3 weeks ago and you were supposed to have it in the Hampton area at the same time. This list shouldn’t include your area.
You were connecting to a signal in Blacksburg like we were. We were part of the October 20 rollout so we should be here.
