Amazon has been busy sending out press invites to all the major tech sites announcing a press conference for Sept 28th to be held in New York City. While there was no details given in the press invite, you can bet your money we’ll most likely see the unveiling of their Android tablet running a customized Android 2.3.
bet on it! – D
Android 2.3???? Why an outdated tablet version of android?
It’s going to be small (7-inches) and more than likely powered by a weak-ish processor. Think “e-Reader that can play Angry Birds” o_O
Like the Nook Color?
Very much like the Nook Color.
I see, thanks for clearing that up. I was just under the impression that Amazon’s tablet was suppose to blow every bodies mind with how advanced it is suppose to be. Oh well!
I don’t understand why people are having such a hard time understanding this. Amazon has their app market. They don’t want people buying apps from Google and visa versa.
Therefore, since Honeycomb is closed source, the only option Amazon has until ICS is Gingerbread, which is open source.
Amazon want’s as little to do with Google in this as possible.
