OpenRock X true wireless earbuds: Stay aware of your surroundings

0

There are so many true wireless earbuds in the market today that you might feel overwhelmed when it comes to choice. That being said, if you’re in the market for a pair of wireless earbuds that offer long-lasting battery life, amazing sound, and could be perfect for voice or video calls, then perhaps the OpenRock X earbuds could be for you.

What is air conduction?

When it comes to earbuds, most of you might be familiar with the earbuds that sit inside of your ear. Those are the more “traditional” designs. But with the OpenRock X, the company has created a pair of true wireless earbuds that relies on air conduction.

This is where the earbuds sit on the outside of the ear canal. The benefits of using air conduction is that it allows for ambient sounds to come in. While it might not offer similar sound staging compared to earbuds that sit inside your ear, it can keep you aware of outside sounds/noises. This is perfect if you’re in public and want to remain aware of your surroundings.

The concept of air conduction is more similar to traditional earbuds or headphones, where the sound is pushed through the air and into your ears. This is versus bone conduction earbuds which rely on vibrations from the earbuds to your bone, which is then transmitted into your inner ear.

Impressive sound quality

We did say that air conduction earbuds might not offer similar sound staging qualities compared to traditional earbuds. That doesn’t mean that the sound coming from these earbuds are bad. In fact, the OpenRock X boasts some pretty impressive sound quality features.

This comes in the form of the use of 14.2mm Dynamic Drivers on each earbud. It also has a BassDirect Bass cavity that should pump out some impressive base. Plus, OpenRock is taking advantage of Spatial Sound so even though the sound staging won’t be the same compared to earbuds that seal your ear canal, you can still look forward to spatial sound effects.

OpenRock has also brough its LISO 2.0 algorithm to the earbuds. The company promises crystal-clear sound across the frequency spectrum, so regardless of what you’re listening to, it should deliver an ideal performance.

Also, for those who want to use these earbuds for calls, the OpenRock X has four built-in microphones with AI noise-canceling algorithm. This will cut down on unnecessary or unwanted background noise so that your voice can carry through clearly. Even though the earbuds were designed for active use, the dynamic drivers and built-in microphones will allow them to pull double duty for work as well.

Perfect for active use

There are earbuds designed for all kinds of use-case scenarios. Some are more for pure entertainment, while some are designed for active use. The OpenRock X earbuds fall into the latter camp. OpenRock has designed these earbuds with active users in mind, so it come with features like an IPX5 rating.

This means that it is water-resistant up to a certain degree. We wouldn’t go swimming with them, but if you want earbuds that you can wear to the gym that can withstand a bit of sweat, then these might be the perfect gym companion.

The open-ear air conduction design also means that you can remain aware of your surroundings. If you’re someone who loves their outdoor runs, this is important as the open-ear design means you can remain aware of things like traffic and people who might be walking behind you or who are calling out to you.

Lastly, OpenRock has designed these earbuds with a hook. This hook design makes the earbuds fit better and also remain more secure. So while you’re running or working out, you don’t have to worry about the earbuds falling out and getting lost.

Long-lasting battery

According to OpenRock, the OpenRock X true wireless earbuds are designed to offer long-lasting battery. The company claims that the earbuds on a single charge can last up to 12 hours, which is honestly pretty impressive. Combined with the charging/carrying case, users can expect up to 48 hours of battery life in total.

This means that you should be able to squeeze a week’s worth of usage out of them, if not more. This all depends on how often you use the earbuds. Either way, you should expect some pretty impressive battery life them these wireless earbuds.
