Jartoo’s Electric Blanket Comes with Nanotubes to Keep You Warm

0

They might be common these days, but just a few years ago electric blankets were pretty much viewed as a “niche” product of sorts, and were seen as something you’re more likely to take on a camping trip than something that you’d use everyday. That being said, they’ve come a pretty long way now and a lot do pack some worthwhile features, keeping you warm and then some.

That’s what Jartoo wants buyers to know with its electric heated blanket, which is currently up on Kickstarter, and is set to launch soon. It’s designed to keep you warm in the most efficient way possible, while being travel-friendly at the same time. You might be curious as to what you can expect with Jartoo’s electric blanket – let’s check it out!

What’s in the Box?

Should you decide to get the Jartoo electric blanket, it packs several other accessories which should get you started easily. In addition to the blanket itself, there’s a 100W GaN adapter, a remote control (with the early bird purchase), a remote control charging cable, a storage bag, a user manual, a warranty card, and an introduction card which gives you a rundown of the Apalos FlexHT heating technology. It’s essentially everything you need to get started, so you can easily use the blanket from the get-go.

Overview of Features

As far as features go, the blanket is made with a pretty comfortable-feeling velvet fabric and static-free material, and while it is designed to be operated with electrical features it is washable so you can keep it clean in the long run. Available in a single dark-grey color, the Jartoo blanket also comes with six different heat settings, which means you have the option of adjusting the blanket’s warmth based on the temperature around you.The blanket comes with a low-voltage 24V system, and Jartoo says that it’s designed to remain safe while in use so you don’t have to worry about burn injuries and such.

More interestingly, the blanket heats up using “full aero carbon nanotube technology.” Yes, it does sound like something out of a sci-fi flick, but it’s essentially a slim film-based design which ditches older heated blanket setups, a lot of which use wires inside to keep users warm. It’s a slimmer approach to heating technology and reduces the likelihood of burns, which is an added plus. Jartoo adds that this reduces power consumption by as much as 60%, making it ideal for users who are cost-conscious when it comes to power, and this also makes it easy to use with portable power stations when on the go.

Controls and Usage

Operating the Jartoo blanket is a pretty simple affair, as you only need to plug it into a standard wall outlet, and you’re pretty much good to go. Adjusting the temperature on the blanket is likewise easy, and there’s a button built into the blanket itself which lets you quickly tinker with the temperature settings. Alternatively though, you can also use the bundled remote control to adjust the blanket’s warmth, which ranges from around 95F to 131F. The remote also features a timer which should come in handy at night.

Jartoo says the blanket heats up rather quickly, and it only takes it a minute to completely heat up the entire area, making sure that there are no cold zones anywhere. In addition to serving as a “regular” blanket of sorts, Jartoo says it can also serve as a heat patch of sorts for tired bodies and sore muscles, making it ideal for different usage scenarios. Of course, the blanket also makes a great travel companion for outdoor camping trips, or at home during the winter months. It can also keep pets warm, and users can keep an eye on them with the remote for temperature adjustment and timer function.

Pricing and Final Thoughts

As for pricing, Jartoo is currently running a promo on Kickstarter which lets early buyers reserve the blanket for $1, with a 60% discount for a total of $109. There is a limit for early bird registration though, with only 300 slots available (you might want to sign up now if you want to snag one for less). One thing to consider is that we would’ve loved to see a battery pack which would lessen the need to keep it plugged in all the time, especially for outdoor use. Overall though, the slim design and adjustable warmth make the Jartoo blanket a pretty sweet (or should we say warm) deal.
