There has been a bit of back and forth on the chipset that Samsung will use for the Galaxy S25 series. Now according to the reports out of South Korea from Hankyung, it has apparently been decided. The Galaxy S25 series will exclusively use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Prior to this, there were rumors that the Galaxy S25 series could use chipsets from both Qualcomm and its own Exynos lineup. However, a new report suggested that due to low production yield of the Exynos 2500, Samsung could go all-in with Qualcomm. The company was expected to take until the end of the month to decide, but this report suggests that Samsung has already made up their mind.

The report goes on to state that Samsung’s mobile chief, TM Roh, will be making a trip to Hawaii for the Snapdragon Summit. It is expected that he will attempt to negotiate for better pricing for the chipsets.

We have heard rumors that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could be considerably more expensive than its predecessor. As a result, it made sense that Samsung would consider using a mix of Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets for the Galaxy S25. That being said, it’s all just a rumor at this point in time. The company will officially unveil the Galaxy S25 series in the early part of 2025, so we’ll have to wait until then for the confirmation.
