With Android 15 finally official, we’re bound to see more and more smartphone manufacturers follow suit and bring over new software features to their devices, within the coming months and throughout 2025. As such, OnePlus in particular isn’t to keen on coming in last, and has announced the upcoming debut of OxygenOS 15.

For those not too familiar, OxygenOS 15 is the latest version of OnePlus’ own custom Android skin. The company says that it will hold an online launch event for its new software upgrade, which is set for October 24, 2024, at 11:30 AM ET across all of OnePlus’ official channels. OnePlus is pretty confident that OxygenOS 15 will bring some major changes – as per an official release:

OxygenOS 15 leverages OnePlus’ extensive research and deep user insights to create a new generation of software that embodies the company’s Never Settle spirit. Equipped with an industry-leading Fast & Smooth experience, meaningful new AI features and a distinctive design style that highlights OnePlus’ personality, OxygenOS 15 is set to be the fastest and most user-friendly update yet.

OnePlus adds that the update will bring enhancements for UI animations and visuals, multi-tasking, as well as the company’s AI software.

In other recent OnePlus news, it’s predicted that the OnePlus 13 might be the first Android smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which is expected to bring massive upgrades to performance.
