The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus could be in the works

0

The Nothing Phone (2a) was announced earlier this year. The handset was designed as a cheaper alternative to the Nothing Phone (2). But it seems that the company could have a slightly more expensive, higher-end variant in the works called the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.

This is according to a post on X by the official Nothing account. The post showed an image of the Mega Aerodactyl Pokemon, along with a caption that just says “+”. For those unfamiliar, Nothing uses Pokemon names for its device codenames. The Nothing Phone (2a) was codenamed Aerodactyl, so the Mega Aerodactyl is an “evolution”, suggesting a new variant of the handset.

Plus, according to tipster Mukul Sharma, Indian carrier Jio has listed the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus in its database. Not much is known about the Plus variant of the phone right now, but based on the naming scheme, it could come with slightly better internals. It could also mean a slightly higher price tag, but ultimately still cheaper compared to the flagship Nothing Phone (2).

Nothing hasn’t announced a launch date yet, but if the post of the teaser is anything to go on, hopefully it won’t be too long before Nothing has something to show.
