Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S24 series next year, and it looks like we might have a sneak peek at what’s under the hood, thanks to a recent sighting on Geekbench that might have revealed potential specs.
According to the listing, it says that the phone will be powered by a chipset with the “pineapple” codename, which some have speculated to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The listing shows that it will feature a prime core clocked at 3.3GHz, and there will also be 3x cores clocked at 3.15GHz, 2x cores at 2.96GHz, and 2 more cors at 2.27GHz. It also reveals the existence of the Adreno 750 GPU.
What’s interesting about this is that it seems to confirm that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will be used. We have heard the rumors that Samsung could be making a return to the Exynos chipset, and that the next-gen Exynos will be a beast with 10-cores, versus the 8-cores we’re seeing here.
It will be a bit odd if the Exynos version has 10-cores versus the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s 8-cores because of the presumable difference in performance, but we’ll have to wait and see if a version with the Exynos chipset surfaces on benchmarks ahead of the launch in 2024.
