When Apple launched the iPhone 14, one of the features from the Pro lineup saw Apple do away with the notch in favor of what they called the “Dynamic Island”. This is a new circular cutout for the front-facing camera and sensors.
While these cutouts aren’t new for Android phones, with a bit of software magic, Apple managed to turn it into an interesting feature used to display notifications where users could interact with it and manage certain apps, almost like a secondary display of sorts. Now it looks like Huawei could be interested in the feature as well.
According to the latest rumors, it seems that for the upcoming Huawei Nova 11 series, the company is expected to introduce its own Dynamic Island feature. The report claims that Huawei will add their own twist to it to make it more unique to them, but we’ll have to wait and see what exactly that twist is.
Ever since the launch of the iPhone 14 and the Dynamic Island, there have been apps created to help mimic that functionality, but assuming this rumor is true, this could be the first time we’re seeing an Android handset maker implement something of their own natively. Suffice to say this should be taken with a grain of salt, but what do you think? Is Dynamic Island a feature you’d like to see make its way to more Android phones in the future?
